| THEOLIA enjoys success in 23rd Marathon des Sables (2008/04/08 6:30 PM) THEOLIA, the electricity producer from renewable energy, took part for the second time in the Marathon des Sables. This 245km endurance race took place between 28 March and 7 April in the Moroccan Sahara. This incredible international sporting adventure brings together environmental responsibility, team spirit and forbearance. THEOLIA did not just sponsor this amazing race, but, on the initiative of its CEO Jean-Marie Santander, it entered three teams (a total of 19 people). One of the teams was professional, the other two were made up of THEOLIA's employees, in particular from THEOLIA Emerging Markets, the Group's subsidiary based in Casablanca and dedicated to emerging countries. ‘This marathon, with its 801 participants from over 30 countries, demanded from each runner: courage, will-power, drive, team-work and a sense of managing precious resources. These requirements mirror those skills most valued by THEOLIA, one of the leading renewable players in Europe. THEOLIA believes in spreading the word about the importance of renewable energy production via its sponsorship work and social engagement.
